According to the ordinance, a motor vehicle is in violation if it is either not properly licensed or is not operable. A sign that a vehicle is not operable would be flat or missing tires, no engine or other major items missing. To be properly registered, the vehicle must have a license plate with stickers attached to both the front & back of the vehicle.” Junk and scrap vehicles are subject to junk car removal and will render no “cash for cars” value. Exceptions to Junk Car Status

“There are a few exceptions to the ordinance: a car which sits on a licensed trailer, such as a race car. Cars inside a garage are also exempt. You can keep up to 2 vehicles behind a fence not viewable by the public. Covering them with a tarp is not allowed. If you are in violation of this ordinance, you have 21 days from when contacted to correct the violation. The city chose twenty-one days to give citizens time to complete repairs or restoration. These rules don’t apply to vehicles on the street. In this case, all vehicles licensed or otherwise must be moved after 24 hours.
